Founded in London in 2010, Travellanda has built one of the travel trade's most expansive B2B platforms, aggregating hotel inventory, transfers, and activities from 80+ suppliers into a single interface, and serving the global travel trade around the clock from offices across four continents.
HyperGuest is now directly connected to Travellanda's platform. To mark the partnership, we conducted a mini-interview with Ali Taheri, Chief Strategy Officer, and Gennaro Vitale, VP Global Contracting, on search efficiency, margin pressure, and why direct supply is now the only credible answer to both.
The Vision
How do you balance massive global reach with the rising technical costs of search?
"Our industry has historically prioritised volume over efficiency, producing excessive API traffic and low conversion rates. At Travellanda, we take a different view: not all volume is equal. Our focus is on intelligently pre-screening searches to identify genuine demand signals rather than simply increasing call volume. The goal is fewer, better searches that cost less and convert more."
The Challenge
What's the core challenge in maintaining a profitable, high-quality inventory while keeping your partners competitive?
"The common response to margin pressure has been to aggregate more third-party supply and hope for better pricing at scale. That model is running out of road. Commoditised APIs mean intermediaries can be bypassed, and volume alone no longer protects margins. Our answer is a curated portfolio of directly contracted supply deals, tailor-made commercial terms, and differentiated product that agencies can't find everywhere else. Our partnership with HyperGuest is a direct extension of that strategy."
The Partnership
How does direct connectivity through HyperGuest help Travellanda adapt quickly when regional demand shifts?
"Concentration in a single geography creates real exposure when conflict, instability, or sudden demand shifts hit. Our approach is geographic diversification across both supply and demand corridors, which gives us a built-in margin of safety. Direct connectivity through HyperGuest accelerates that by giving us faster access to hotel supply across new markets without lengthy manual contracting cycles. When one region softens, we can move quickly elsewhere rather than waiting months to establish new supply relationships."
With 1,000+ properties now available under direct agreements and DMC arrangements, Travellanda is doing what the smartest operators in wholesale are quietly moving toward: building a supply chain they actually control.
The HyperGuest partnership gives them the infrastructure to move fast. The rest, as Ali and Gennaro put it, is about knowing where to look next.
A genuine thank you to Ali Taheri and Gennaro Vitale and the entire Travellanda team — and to for bringing this partnership to life on the HyperGuest side.
