World2Meet (W2M), the travel division of the Iberostar Group, doesn't do things halfway. As one of Europe's most vertically integrated travel groups, W2M spans tour operations, a global bedbank, DMC services, a retail agency network, corporate travel, and its own airline, World2Fly. Moving that much inventory, across that many brands, in that many markets, demands infrastructure that can keep up. That's why W2M and HyperGuest are now live.
We conducted a mini-interview with Juan Diaz , Head of Direct Connectivity & Strategic Partnerships at W2M, to understand what's driving their connectivity strategy, and what direct integration unlocks for a group operating at this scale.
The Vision
W2M has evolved into one of Europe's most vertically integrated travel groups. What is the philosophy driving how you approach innovation today, and where does smarter connectivity fit?
"At W2M, our growth into a vertically integrated travel group hasn't changed our core philosophy: we remain obsessively customer-centric and deeply committed to agility. Innovation isn't about adopting technology for the sake of it; it's about breaking down barriers to deliver real-world value fast. For a group of our scale, connectivity is the central nervous system. It bridges our tour operating, bedbank, retail, and airline divisions. Smarter, optimized connectivity ensures that our massive inventory moves fluidly across all brands, allowing us to react instantly to market shifts and deliver a seamless experience to both hotel partners and end consumers."
The Challenge
Managing hotel inventory and rates across a multi-brand, multi-market operation is no small task. Where does fragmentation hurt W2M the most?
"Where fragmentation hits us hardest today is in rate consistency, particularly under the immense pressure of high-volume global distribution. The true complexity lies in synchronizing and pushing massive volumes of real-time ARI data across a highly diversified ecosystem. When legacy or fragmented layers sit between us and the properties, the resulting latency creates immediate data mismatches. For an operation with our extensive footprint, even a micro-delay in updates disrupts rate integrity across our broad sales network. Data synchronization is our biggest operational hurdle."
The Partnership
HyperGuest cuts out the middleware that slows contracting, inflates costs, and fragments inventory data. For a group like W2M that already controls so much of the travel chain, what does adding a direct connectivity layer unlock?
"HyperGuest delivers distinct value as a powerful, real-world accelerator for ARI data connectivity. The strategic advantage lies in its ability to streamline the ingestion of product. HyperGuest effectively unifies and standardizes real-time ARI data from hundreds of complex connections into a single, optimized stream. Instead of dedicating heavy operational resources to managing a fragmented ecosystem of individual APIs, this direct layer ensures the product is immediately clean, structured, and ready for rapid distribution across our entire group. It allows us to bypass legacy latency, strip out friction, and drastically accelerate our time-to-market."
For a group that already controls much of the travel value chain, the question was never whether to pursue direct connectivity. It was about finding a layer that could match the pace and complexity of W2M's operation. That's exactly what this partnership delivers.
Welcome to the HyperGuest network, W2M. We're glad to have you!
A warm thank you to the World2Meet team for sharing their perspective, and to Marc Armengol and Olivia Pérez Alcalde from HyperGuest for making this connection a reality.
